East Bay Animal Hospital Opened in 1993, East Bay Animal Hospital is a full-service Veterinary facility, caring for animals in South Eastern  Massachusetts and the Greater Providence,  Rhode Island  Area. We are staffed with four highly experienced Veterinarians and many compassionate, skilled Veterinary Technicians. In addition to providing services to the public, we partner with local shelters to promote adoption and affordable spay/neuter programs. We are able to provide both routine and specialty services. Meet Our Team

Dr. Peter Cournoyer
Medical Director

Education: Boston College, Tufts University
33 years in practice

Dr. Cournoyer graduated from  Boston College in 1984 and Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. He opened this practice in 2000 and especially enjoys primary care and surgery. He is married with three children and enjoys the family pets; two dogs and four chickens.

Dr. Elizabeth Murdock
Veterinarian

Education: Royal Veterinary College and Vassar College
21 years in practice

Dr. Murdock graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London, England in 2001 and practiced in the UK until 2008.

She moved back to the US in 2008 with her husband, 3 children, and 3 pets in tow.  She enjoys surgery, small mammals, and endocrine disease.

Dr. Amy Munson
Veterinarian

Education: Atlantic Veterinary College
14 years in practice

Dr. Munson graduated from Atlantic Veterinary College on Prince Edward Island, Canada, and has been practicing in RI ever since.  She and her husband Chris share their home with two “special needs” animals, a three-legged Chihuahua, and a one-eyed cat.  She also has two large fuzzy dogs and one other “rescue” cat.  She recently added two humans to her
extensive family as well!

Dr. Benjamin Brault
Veterinarian

Education: Kansas State University, College of Veterinary Medicine
​19 years in practice

Dr. Brault graduated from Cornell University in 1999, and Kansas State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003.

After completing a one-year rotating internship in general practice, internal medicine, surgery and critical care in Sacramento, California, he then spent his career practicing general medicine and surgery and raising a family.  He and his wife Leah share their home with 2 kids, 2 Burmese cats, and a large Leonberger named Moon.

​They also have 2 beehives in their backyard.

Meaghan
Veterinary Assistant

Meaghan joined our Team in the Fall of 2011.  She shares her home with one adorable dog named “Fender”, two cats named “Ziggy” and “Zoso”, and a Leopard Gecko named “Morrison”.

Emerald
Veterinary Assistant

Emmy joined our Team in the Spring of 2012.  She utilizes her surgical training and degree in Science to assist with our four-legged friends.  She has two dogs named “Wrek” and “Layla”, and a cat named “Punkin”.

Parker
Veterinary Assistant

Parker joined our Team in the Summer of 2020.  She graduated from the College of Charleston in May of 2022 with a degree in Biology.  She is currently applying to Veterinary school and has a cat named “Pippa”.

Laura
Office Manager/Veterinary Assistant

Laura joined our team in January of 2015.  She completed her degree in Pre-Veterinary Science at URI in the Fall of 2015.  She enjoys taking her Golden Retriever named “Millie” to the beach, and training her cats named “Rozin”
and “Dill” to do fun tricks. She also has two Budgies, “Katara” and “Cricket”, as well as a Bearded Dragon named “Gwen”.

Olivia
Veterinary Assistant

Olivia joined our team in the Fall of 2018.  She graduated from URI in May of 2021 with a degree in Pre-Veterinary Science and will be attending Veterinary school in Fall of 2023. She has two cats “Hazel” and “CeCe”, and a goofy Great Dane named “Archie.”

Kelsey
Veterinary Assistant

Kelsey joined our Team in September of 2022.  She has been in the animal field since 2019.  She has two pups named “Chester” and “Kai”, and a new kitten named “Kona”.

Lauren
Veterinary Assistant

Lauren graduated from the University of RI with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Technology.

She likes to spend her free time training her Aussie mix named “Chloe” to do tricks, while her Chihuahua sister named “Chanel” eats all of her treats!  She also has a fish named “Lulu”, and four cats named “Emma”, “Peanut”, “Munchkin” and “Boo”.

Kaira
Veterinary Assistant

Kaira joined our Team in September of 2022.  She has worked in the Veterinary field for two years and is currently attending school to earn her Certified Veterinary Technician degree.  She will be applying to Veterinary school the Summer of 2023.

She has three dogs: “Mindy” (pictured), “Luna” and “Lila”, a Bearded Dragon named “Esmeralda”, a Ball Python named “Baby”, and two “bonded’ Guinea Pigs named “Beau” and “Biscuit”.

Veterinary Assistant

Mike has been a member of the Team since August 2015. He lives with his wife, 2 daughters, dogs “Cooper” and “Poppy”, 2 cats “Simba” and “Zahara”, and “Pepper” the bunny.

Silvia
Veterinary Assistant

Silvia joined our Team in April of 2022.  She graduated from New England Tech. in September of 2021 with a degree in Veterinary Technology

She is an avid cat lover: She has a 9-year-old kitty named “Tigga”, who she adores, and has motivated her to become a technician.

Lauren
Veterinary Assistant

Lauren has been a Veterinary Assistant since late 2018.  She got her start at a small Clinic in Jax Beach, Florida, where she learned “everything she knows”.  She’s passionate about animal welfare and is a talented artist.

She currently shares her heart and home with five cats, named “Sherlock”, “Valentine”, “Maubee”, “Noelle”, and  “Zoey”, and two Labradors named “Charlotte” and “George”.

Chelsea
Veterinary Assistant

Chelsea has been a member of our Team since April 2021.  She is currently attending Massasoit Community College to obtain her Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology so that she may go on to become a Certified Veterinary Technician.

She has a wide array of animals, including a pony, sheep, goats, chickens and rabbits, along with three dogs: “Roxy” (purple), “Xena” (blue), and “Max” (middle).

Alyssa
Veterinary Assistant

Alyssa joined our Team in November of 2021.  She graduated from New England Tech in 2018 with an Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology.  She has a “clingy” Bernedoodle named “Finley”, a Guinea Pig named “Phoebe” and two cats named “Betty” and “Irene”.
